Evening skincare routine for whiteheads: step by step

Nights are for repair. Follow this 3-step sequence and keep treatment to the nights that suit your skin.

The sequence

double cleanse → BHA or retinol alternate nights → barrier cream.

Active nights and recovery nights

Use BHA or retinol alternate nights on two or three nights, spaced apart. On the others, cleanse gently and use only barrier cream.

If small closed bumps flares after an active night, extend the gap to every third night.

Avoid at night

Over-extracting at home and coconut oil on acne-prone skin tend to undo evening progress — leave them out for the first month.

One week of whiteheads care, planned

Mornings stay identical; evenings alternate between BHA or retinol alternate nights nights and recovery nights.

Is your whiteheads routine actually fair to your skin?

Answer honestly before adding or swapping a product. Most plateaus are explained by one of these.
